Un album quanto mai rappresentativo dell’ala più all’avanguardia all’interno di quello straordinario laboratorio di nome Blue Note: il reinventore del vibrafono Bobby Hutcherson qui (siamo nel 1966) si unisce a Joe Henderson al sax tenore, McCoy Tyner al piano, Herbie Lewis al contrabbasso e Billy Higgins alla batteria per registrare un album memorabile, tra composizioni originali e un danzante “Una muy bonita”, noto brano di sapore tex-mex firmato da Ornette Coleman.
This stereo Tone Poet Vinyl Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray (Cohearent Audio) from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at Record Technology Inc. (RTI), and packaged in a deluxe gatefold tip-on jacket.
