L'album di debutto di Norah Jones per la Blue Note, pubblicato nel 2002, ha annunciato l'arrivo di un grande talento. Oltre a brani originali e delicati composti da Jones e dal bassista Lee Alexander, l'album contiene alcune cover ben scelte: "Cold, Cold Heart" di Hank Williams e "The Nearness Of You" di Hoagy Carmichael sono entrambe reinterpretate con un tocco magico. Essenzialmente un album di delicate canzoni pop, gli arrangiamenti di Jones sono elevati a un altro livello dalla presenza di alcuni pesi massimi del jazz, tra cui il chitarrista Bill Frisell e il batterista Brian Blade.
